MCLE BREAKOUT SESSIONS
New Technologies, New Challenges
The traditional ways of communicating and creating data are expanding with the use of ephemeral messaging tools, such as Wickr, Slack, Signal, Snap, WeChat and WhatsApp are now popular and have become subject to discovery and review requirements. Digital assets can pop up in any case and home security systems recording video and audio are now commonplace. Standardizing these forms of “exotic” data is a persistent challenge in e-discovery. This panel will discuss the tools and methods they use to properly collect, process and review these exotic data types to ensure all relevant information is uncovered and understood.
Effective Storytelling with Technology
Technology is an essential component of a litigator’s courtroom strategy but it can also be used anywhere a story needs to be told. This panel will discuss how to create digital presentations that will capture and hold an audience’s attention, using a variety of formats including audio, video, slides and 3D animation. They will further discuss how to integrate cutting edge technology such as Google Maps and Street View into examinations and argument.
