This presentation provides an introduction to a burgeoning area of Probate Law practice. It will explain the reasons for appointment of a Conservator, define the parties and Court personnel involved, and the differences between Conservatorship of an Estate and of a Person. It will explain the court procedures from the initial filing of a Petition, to the filing of the Ex parte Petition and Order for Final Discharge of Conservator upon termination of the Conservatorship and fulfillment of the Conservator's duties. The presentation will also focus on many of the tasks in which a paralegal might be involved during the legal proceedings.

Mitchell I. Roth has been in private practice in San Bernardino County for 24 years, focusing on probate and estate matters, as well as business and general civil litigation. Admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey and California, Mr. Roth brings a diverse experience to dispute resolution. Mr. Roth often has the distinction of being appointed counsel for conservatees and appointed Guardian ad Litem for minors and trust beneficiaries.
