Earl Lee Roberts, Deputy District Attorney for Riverside County, will present an overview of criminal prosecution, covering topics such as:  Case intake, review, and filing considerations; Case settlement considerations, negotiations, and court indicated settlement offers; Preliminary hearings; Motions; Trial and trial considerations; and, Sentencing.  This presentation shall focus on matters not covered in Earl Lee Roberts’s prior presentation on this topic at ICAP’s September 2013 general meeting.


Earl Lee Roberts is a graduate of the University of California, Riverside, with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, and received his Juris Doctorate from Chapman University School of Law in 2007. Earl Lee Roberts served as a felony trial attorney within the Riverside County district for six years.  His current assignment is in Banning Court.  Earl Lee Roberts served as a San Bernardino County Sheriff for twenty years, retiring with the rank of Sergeant.
