This one hour seminar is aimed at students who are about to finish their schooling and enter the workplace. During this presentation Attorney Joseph Ortiz will explain the major differences between labeling a paralegal an employee or an independent contractor. This crucial difference will help students when applying or interviewing for a paralegal position in a law firm.

Attorney Joseph Ortiz, a Partner at Best Best & Krieger, LLP, represents private and municipal employers in employment related matters and is one of BBK's most experienced trial litigators in both state and federal courts. Joseph teaches employment law in the UCR Extension Paralegal Certificate program and was recently appointed to the California Fair Employment and Housing Council.

This presentation will be held at the East Valley Water District, located at 3111 Greenspot Road, Highland, CA 92346.
